About

Tuya Cloud Map Extractor is an integration that pulls live maps from Tuya laser vacuums into Home Assistant. It adds a camera entity that shows the vacuum map, and it gets the data through the Tuya cloud using a Client ID, Client Secret and Device ID. Setup runs in the UI, where the map can be styled with colors for the background, walls, inside areas, path and individual rooms. Options cover showing the path, using the last reported vacuum position, rotating the map and flipping it horizontally or vertically. The camera is off by default and has to be turned on and off through camera services, or by an automation. The author states the project is no longer maintained, and it was built by reverse engineering, so it works only with a short list of tested vacuums.

Important notice: This custom integration is no longer maintained and will not receive any further updates, bug fixes, or new features. The Tuya vacuum protocol is not standardized across manufacturers. While Tuya provides a common cloud platform, each robot vacuum brand (or even different models from the same brand) implements its own proprietary variations of the protocol, including custom message formats, encryption methods, map data structures, and command sets.

This integration was developed primarily through reverse engineering and currently works with the devices listed further down in the readme.
