About

Tuya Local is an integration that connects Tuya devices to Home Assistant over the local network instead of the Tuya cloud. It supports devices running Tuya firmware over WiFi, with limited support for devices connected through hubs or gateways. Entities are created across many platforms, including climate, fans, lights, locks, sensors, switches, vacuums and water heaters, with device types chosen during setup. Devices are added in the interface, either by logging in to Tuya to pick a device from the account or by entering the address, device ID and local key manually. It also offers an action for sending learned remote commands to infrared emitters and a diagnostics download for bug reports. Devices still report status to the Tuya cloud, and many Tuya devices accept only one local connection at a time.
