About
Z-Wave is a built-in Home Assistant integration that connects Z-Wave devices through the Z-Wave JS server. It works locally and is set up in the UI, using either a USB device path or a socket path, or by connecting to the Z-Wave JS app. It provides platforms such as climate, covers, fans, lights, locks, sensors, sirens and switches, and adds diagnostic sensors for signal strength, round trip time and node status, plus a ping button. Actions cover lock user and credential management, setting device configuration parameters, multicast value changes, refreshing values and notifications, resetting meters, and pinging a node. Devices offer triggers for notifications, node status changes and value changes, so they can start automations directly, and repair notices appear for an outdated server or an unknown adapter.

Actions
- Bulk set partial configuration parametersAllows for bulk setting partial parameters. Useful when multiple partial parameters have to be set at the same time.Fields: Area ID(s), Device ID(s), Endpoint, Entity ID(s), Parameter, Value
- Clear lock user codeClears a user code from a lock.Fields: Code slot
- Delete all credentialsDeletes all credentials for a user on a lock.Fields: User index
- Delete all usersDeletes all access-control users from a lock.
- Delete credentialDeletes a single credential from a lock.Fields: Credential slot, Credential type, User index
- Delete userDeletes a single access-control user from a lock.Fields: User index
- Get credential capabilitiesQueries the credential management capabilities of a lock.
- Get lock user codeGets user codes from a lock.Fields: Code slot
- Get usersLists all access-control users and their credential references on a lock.
- Invoke a Command Class API on a nodeCalls a Command Class API on a node. Some Command Classes can't be fully controlled via the set_value action and require direct calls to the Command Class API.Fields: Area ID(s), Command class, Device ID(s), Endpoint, Entity ID(s), Method name, Parameters
- Set a value on multiple devices via multicastChanges any value that Z-Wave recognizes on multiple Z-Wave devices using multicast, so all devices receive the message simultaneously. This action has minimal validation so only use this action if you know what you are doing.Fields: Area ID(s), Broadcast, Command class, Device ID(s), Endpoint, Entity ID(s), Options, Property, Property key, Value
- Ping a nodeForces Z-Wave to try to reach a node. This can be used to update the status of the node in Z-Wave when you think it doesn't accurately reflect reality, e.g. reviving a failed/dead node or marking the node as asleep.Fields: Area ID(s), Device ID(s), Entity ID(s)
- Refresh notifications on a nodeRefreshes notifications on a node based on notification type and optionally notification event.Fields: Area ID(s), Device ID(s), Entity ID(s), Notification Event, Notification Type
- Refresh valuesForce updates the values of a Z-Wave entity.Fields: Entities, Refresh all values
- Reset meters on a nodeResets the meters on a node.Fields: Area ID(s), Device ID(s), Entity ID(s), Meter type, Target value
- Set device configuration parameterChanges the configuration parameters of your Z-Wave devices.Fields: Area ID(s), Bitmask, Device ID(s), Endpoint, Entity ID(s), Parameter, Value, Value format, Value size
- Set credentialAdds or updates a credential (PIN code or password) for an existing user on a lock entity. Call set_user first to create a user if needed.Fields: Credential data, Credential slot, Credential type, User index
- Set lock configurationSets the configuration for a lock.Fields: Autorelock time, Block to Block, Hold and release time, Lock timeout, Operation type, Twist Assist
- Set lock user codeSets a user code on a lock.Fields: Code slot, Code
- Set userCreates or updates an access-control user on a lock entity. When no user_id is given, a new user is created. A credential (PIN code or password) can be written in the same call. Returns the allocated user_id, plus the credential_slot when a credential was written, for each targeted lock entity.Fields: Active, Credential data, Credential rule, Credential slot, Credential type, User index, User name, User type
