About

WashData monitors appliances through a smart plug, detecting cycles and estimating the time remaining. It reads the power trace to find cycle start, pause and end, then recognises the program once profiles have been taught from recorded or labelled cycles. It supports washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, air fryers, bread makers and pumps, plus a threshold type for simple on/off detection. Entities cover running state, program, progress, current phase, match confidence and time remaining, along with buttons to pause, resume, force-end or record a cycle. Actions let profiles and cycles be labelled, trimmed, exported and imported, and cycle feedback can correct a detected program. It runs locally inside Home Assistant and is set up in the UI by choosing a power sensor and a minimum power threshold.

WashData Setup

  • Device NameA friendly name for this device (e.g., 'Washing Machine', 'Dishwasher').
  • Device TypeSets detection defaults for this kind of appliance.
  • Power SensorThe smart plug sensor that reports live power in watts.
  • Minimum Power Threshold (W)Readings above this (in watts) mean the appliance is running. 2 W suits most devices.

From the README

A Home Assistant integration that watches an appliance through its smart plug. It detects each cycle, recognises which program ran from the power curve, and tells you how long is left.

Works with washing machines, dryers, washer-dryers, dishwashers, air fryers, bread makers and pumps. Two catch-all types cover the rest: Other (Advanced) (full program matching) and Threshold Device (on/off detection only).
