About

Philips TV is a built-in integration that connects Philips televisions to Home Assistant over the local network. It adds a media player, a remote, an Ambilight light, and switches for Ambilight with Hue and for the screen state. Binary sensors report when a new recording is available and when a recording is ongoing. A device trigger fires when the device is requested to turn on, so automations can start from it. An option allows the data notification service instead of periodic polling, which speeds up reaction to state changes, though some firmware versions may stop responding with it enabled. Home Assistant can discover it on the network, and setup in the UI asks for the host, API version, and a pairing PIN code.
