About

Xiaomi Vacuum is an integration for Xiaomi robot vacuums, covering the X20 Max, S20+ and S40 Pro models. Control and state polling run locally over the MIoT protocol, while the Xiaomi cloud is used for the one-time login in setup, the map image and localized error text. It adds a vacuum entity with standard controls, plus sensors for status, error and the remaining life of the mop, brushes and filter. Selects cover cleaning mode, repetitions, mop water level, sweep route and obstacle avoidance, and the S20+ omits the last two. Rooms reported by the device can be mapped to Home Assistant areas, and the X20 Max also has actions for zone cleaning and for starting a custom cleaning saved in the Mi Home app. Setup is done in the UI, where the Xiaomi cloud region and the vacuum are chosen.

From the README

A Home Assistant integration for the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X20 Max (xiaomi.vacuum.d109gl), Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S20+ (xiaomi.vacuum.b108gl) and Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40 Pro (xiaomi.vacuum.ov71gl).

Day-to-day control and state polling run locally over the MIoT protocol (iot_class: local_polling). The Xiaomi cloud is used for one-time setup — a QR login that discovers the vacuum and fetches its IP and token for you — and for two cloud-only extras: the map image and localized error messages.

  • Vacuum entity with the standard HA controls: start, pause, stop, return to dock, locate, fan speed, battery, state.
  • Native segment cleaning — exposes the rooms reported by the device so you can use Home Assistant's Settings → Devices & services → Entities → vacuum → ⚙ → Map vacuum segments to areas dialog and…
  • Zone cleaning (X20 Max) — the xiaomi_vacuum.clean_zone action cleans one or more rectangles drawn in the vacuum's map coordinates, optionally setting the number of repeats. See
  • Custom cleanings (X20 Max) — the xiaomi_vacuum.start_custom_cleaning action starts a custom cleaning saved in the Mi Home app by its name. See
  • Map image — the live map is rendered from the Xiaomi cloud as an image entity you can drop on a dashboard.
  • Error reporting — Error (localized, human-readable fault text resolved from the Xiaomi cloud message feed) and Error code sensors. The fault is read from the device's live fault list, so it clears…
