About

Bosch Smart Home Camera is a cloud-based integration that adds Bosch Smart Home cameras to Home Assistant. It covers the Eyes Outdoor and 360 Indoor models and the second-generation Eyes Outdoor II and Eyes Indoor II, with model-specific timing set automatically. It provides camera, snapshot, sensor, light, switch, number, select and update entities, plus controls for live stream, privacy mode, camera light and intercom. Two custom dashboard cards are included, one detailed view per camera and one multi-camera grid. Options cover connection type (automatic, local or cloud), buffer profile, low-latency go2rtc streaming, and optional AI snapshot analysis through Home Assistant's AI Task. Sign-in goes through the vendor's own page, and the integration relies on a reverse-engineered API, so it may change without notice.

Setting it up

Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services.

Bosch Smart Home Camera — Login (Step 1 of 2)

  • Bosch login URLCopy this URL and open it in your browser to log in.

Bosch Smart Home Camera — Paste URL (Step 2 of 2)

  • Redirect URLThe full URL from the browser address bar after login (contains the authorization code)
  • Advanced: custom camera-API URL (diagnostic only)Leave empty unless Bosch support has explicitly given you a different camera-API base URL to test — this does not enable a beta program or unlock anything, it only changes which server the integration talks to.

After setup

  • Polling interval (seconds)How often the integration fetches data from the Bosch cloud. Lower = faster, more API calls. Default: 60
  • Status check interval (seconds)How often cameras are pinged for ONLINE/OFFLINE. Default: 300 (5 min)
  • Event check interval (seconds)How often to check for new motion/audio events. With FCM Push this is only a fallback. Default: 300 (5 min)
  • Snapshot refresh interval (seconds)How often to proactively refresh camera snapshots. Range: 300–86400. Default: 1800 (30 min)
  • Camera snapshotsShow the latest motion-triggered JPEG as a camera entity in HA.
  • Sensors (Status, WiFi, Firmware, Events)Create sensor entities for camera status, WiFi signal, firmware, events today, last event, etc.
  • Switches & Buttons (Stream, Privacy, Light)Create switch and button entities: Live Stream, Audio, Privacy Mode, Camera Light, Notifications, Refresh.
  • Motion / Audio alarm sensorsCreate binary sensors that turn ON for the configured active window after a motion or audio alarm event. Useful for automations.
  • Motion sensor: active window (seconds)How many seconds the motion/audio/person binary sensors stay ON after an event. Default: 90 s. Increase for slower automations; decrease for faster reset. Range: 10–300 s.
  • Intercom (two-way audio)Enable the intercom (two-way audio) switch entity. Disabled by default. Allows sending audio to the camera speaker.
  • Card auto-play defaultControls whether the live stream auto-reveals when the Lovelace card loads. Per-card YAML auto_play overrides this. • LAN only (recommended): auto-reveal on the home network; on remote the stream is pre-initialized in the background and a tap-to-reveal overlay covers the video until you tap. • Always: auto-reveal in every session. • Tap-to-reveal: pre-initialize the stream and show the overlay in every session — you always tap once to actually display the video.
  • Stream connection typeDefault connection type for live streams. • auto (recommended): Try local LAN first, automatically fall back to Bosch cloud proxy on failure. • local: Direct LAN only — no internet required. Faster RTSP, but slower snapshots (~6–10 s). Session auto-renewed every 50 s. • remote: Always via Bosch cloud proxy. Faster snapshots (~0.4–1.9 s). Best default when HA is not on the same LAN. The 'Stream Mode' select entity overrides this setting at runtime without restart.
  • Player buffer profile (HLS)How many seconds of video the player pre-buffers before showing it. More buffer = fewer stutters but larger lag behind real time. • Latency: small buffer (~4-6 s lag). May stutter on flaky Wi-Fi. • Balanced (recommended): medium buffer (~8-10 s). Robust against typical Wi-Fi hiccups. • Stable: large buffer (~12-15 s). Smooth even on weak links, but noticeably delayed. Affects only the card display — has no effect on the camera, recording, or snapshots.
  • go2rtc WebRTC (low-latency streaming ~2s)Automatically register live streams with HA's bundled go2rtc for WebRTC playback (~2 s latency vs. ~10 s HLS). Recommended. Disable only if you run a custom go2rtc setup.
  • Green IT — end idle live streams automatically (experimental, under development)Automatically end a camera's live session once nobody is watching it any more — when no app, dashboard or Cast has fetched the stream for about 3 minutes. This stops the camera from continuously encoding and streaming video to no one: it saves Wi-Fi bandwidth and camera power/heat, turns the camera's live LED off, and frees Bosch's per-camera live-session slot. Experimental — under development, off by default. Viewer detection cannot yet reliably see a live WebRTC viewer, so with this ON a stream you are actively watching may be ended prematurely. Leave it OFF for now; idle sessions are still bounded by Bosch's 60-minute session recycle.
  • Bosch login URLCopy and open in your browser.

  • Advanced: custom camera-API URL (diagnostic only)Leave empty unless Bosch support has explicitly given you a different camera-API base URL to test — this does not enable a beta program or unlock anything, it only changes which server the integration talks to.
