About
Google Nest is a built-in integration that connects Nest cameras, doorbells and thermostats to Home Assistant through Google's cloud. It adds camera, climate, event and sensor entities, including chime and motion events and a sensor for the fan timer timeout. An action sets the fan to run for a specific duration. Devices can start automations directly through triggers for motion, person, sound and doorbell presses. Updates from Nest devices arrive through a Cloud Pub/Sub subscription, which relies on a Google Cloud project and a Device Access project. Sign-in runs through the vendor's own page, and the integration is configured in the UI. New devices appear without repeating setup, and devices that are gone are removed automatically.
