About

WebRTC Camera is a custom component for viewing almost any camera stream in real time in Home Assistant. It uses the go2rtc streaming server, which can be downloaded and run automatically by the component, or run as an add-on or on another machine in the local network. go2rtc takes in sources such as RTSP, RTMP, HTTP streams, HomeKit cameras and USB cameras, and picks the streaming technology based on codecs, browser and network. The component does not create devices or entities of its own, but adds two services and a custom dashboard card. The services create a temporary or permanent link to a stream, and cast a stream to a Chromecast device through DashCast. The card accepts a stream address, a go2rtc stream name or a camera entity, and supports two-way audio over HTTPS with supported sources, plus pan, tilt and zoom controls. It is added through the integration list in the interface and works locally.
