About

HA & FoxESSCloud integration monitors a FoxESS photovoltaic installation from Home Assistant through sensors. It connects with a FoxESS Cloud API key and then lets the user pick an inverter, with each inverter added as its own entry. Options cover extended PV string reading for Fox R series inverters or any inverter with more than six strings, a FoxESS EVO series mode, and a time zone adjustment for inverter timestamps. A reduced API calls mode polls less often to stay within the FoxESS daily call quota, which matters for multi-inverter setups. A daily energy sanity check threshold ignores readings above a set value, so corrupted spikes do not reach the Energy Dashboard statistics. Older YAML configurations are imported automatically into a UI entry with entity IDs and history kept.

  • Extended PV strings (PV7–18)Enable for Fox R series inverters or any inverter with more than 6 PV strings. Reads voltage, current, and power for PV strings 7–18.
  • Reduced API calls mode (Eco mode)Polls telemetry every 10 minutes instead of 5 minutes to stay well below the FoxESS 1,440 daily API quota.

  • API Key
  • Daily energy sanity check threshold (kWh)Maximum expected daily energy generation in kWh. Readings above this threshold are ignored to protect Energy Dashboard statistics from corrupted spikes (default: 100 kWh).
  • Reduced API calls mode (Eco mode)Halves API polling frequency (10-minute intervals) to prevent exceeding the FoxESS 1,440 daily call quota, especially useful for multi-inverter setups or accounts linked to VPP providers.
  • Extended PV strings (PV7–18)Enable for Fox R series or inverters with more than 6 PV strings.
  • FoxESS EVO series modeEnable if using a FoxESS EVO inverter where device details are incomplete.
  • Cross Time Zone adjustmentEnable if inverter timestamps use a different time zone than Home Assistant.
  • Restrict API variablesEnable if Fox Cloud returns errors for large variable lists.
