About

TP-Link Smart Home is a built-in integration that controls TP-Link and Tapo devices locally from Home Assistant. It covers many device types, including lights, switches, fans, climate devices, vacuums, sirens and cameras, with sensors for energy use, cleaning progress and device warnings. Camera live view is optional and needs the camera account credentials from the Tapo app. Extra controls include pan and tilt buttons, alarm sound and volume selection, child lock, motion and person detection switches, and consumable reset buttons for vacuums. Light effects can be set as random or sequence effects through actions. Devices are found on the network automatically, and new or removed devices are handled without redoing setup, which is done in the UI.

Home Assistant usually finds it on the network and offers to add it. It can also be added by hand under Settings, Devices and services.
