About

Netgear WAX is a local integration that connects Netgear WAX access points to Home Assistant without the cloud. It adds binary sensors, sensors and switches, and the options let each of these three platforms be turned on or off. The switches turn Wi-Fi SSIDs on and off, which can be used to automate a guest network. An update sensor reports whether firmware is available, though firmware installation is done in the access point's own web interface. Client activity entries take their names from the reported hostname, a matching Home Assistant device name, or the MAC address. Setup happens in the UI with the device username, password, address and port, and tested models include the WAX-610, WAX-620, WAX-630 and WAC-510.

From the README

The Netgear Home Assistant integration is a completely local (no cloud) integration that allows you to integrate your Netgear WAX access points into Home Assistant. Today this integration supports the WAX device models but is coded to make it easy to add other devices in the future.

Supports turning on WI-FI SSIDs. This is particular useful if you want to automate turning on your guest WI-FI network.
