About

Fritz!Box VPN is an integration that controls WireGuard VPN connections on AVM FritzBox routers. It talks to the router locally and detects the WireGuard connections it finds, then adds a switch for each one to turn it on or off. Alongside the switches it provides a binary sensor for the connected state and sensors for status, connection UID and VPN UID. Home Assistant can discover the router on the network, and credentials from the existing Fritz!Box Tools setup can be reused. The update interval is adjustable, and a setting controls how entities behave when a poll fails temporarily. Two actions clean up entities: one removes those whose VPN connection no longer exists on the router, and the other repairs entity IDs that gained numeric suffixes.

From the README

This integration allows you to control WireGuard VPN connections on an AVM Fritz!Box directly through Home Assistant.

  • Automatic detection of all WireGuard VPN connections
  • Turn VPN connections on/off via Switch entities
  • Easy configuration through the Home Assistant UI
  • Support for multiple VPN connections
  • Automatic configuration from existing Fritz!Box Tools
  • Automatic FritzBox discovery via SSDP/UPnP
  • Configurable update interval (5 seconds to 1 hour; default 30 s)
  • Session caching: only one login per integration load (no login on every poll), so router access notifications by email stay minimal
