About
Denon AVR is a custom integration that controls Denon AV receivers from the HEOS generation locally in Home Assistant. It adds a media player plus binary sensors, buttons, numbers, selects, sensors and switches for settings such as sound mode, tone control, dynamic EQ, volume limit and audio delay. Receiver details like model name, zones, input sources, sound modes and control ranges are read from the device itself rather than fixed in the integration. Settings are grouped into sub-devices that mirror the receiver's own menus: Audio, Video, Picture, Speakers and Graphic EQ, while the main device keeps everyday controls. It talks to the receiver mainly over telnet with real-time updates, and it can run alongside the Denon app because the receiver accepts several connections. Home Assistant can discover the receiver on the network, and setup in the UI asks for its IP address.
