About
Spotify Connect is a Home Assistant app that plays Spotify music through the device running Home Assistant. It uses the Spotify Connect protocol, so the device shows up as a target that Spotify clients can control. On a Raspberry Pi, for example, the music plays through a sound system connected to the Pi. Settings cover the device name shown in Spotify, the bitrate (96, 160 or 320), the starting volume, autoplay of similar songs, and the log level. An access token can be set to sign in to a Spotify account. It needs Home Assistant OS, runs on aarch64 and amd64, uses the host network, and requires a Spotify Premium account.

The Home Assistant Spotify Connect app allows you to use your device, running Home Assistant, to play your Spotify music. This app uses the Spotify Connect protocol, which makes it a device that can be controlled by all the official clients.
For example, running Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi with this app installed will allow you to play your Spotify music on the Pi. So all you'll have to do is hook up your sound system to the Pi and start booming!

- NameThe name of your device (the Spotify Connect target), as shown on the official Spotify clients.
- BitrateThe bitrate Spotify should use. The higher, the better the sound quality, however, the app consumes more data.
- Initial VolumeInitial volume in % from 0-100.
- AutoplayWhether Spotify should autoplay similar songs at the end of the queue.
