About

Syslog Receiver is an integration that listens for syslog messages over UDP, TCP or TLS and passes them to Home Assistant. Incoming messages can be filtered by source IP address and by minimum severity before they are handled. Each accepted message fires an event on the Home Assistant event bus, which automations can use as a trigger. An optional sensor entity exposes the last received message. A character encoding can be chosen for decoding, with UTF-8 as the default, a list of common encodings and a custom entry, which helps with older devices that do not send UTF-8. It runs locally and is set up in the UI, with no YAML needed.
