About
Node-RED Companion links Node-RED flows with Home Assistant through the node-red-contrib-home-assistant-websocket package. It lets Node-RED create and update Home Assistant entities, covering binary sensors, buttons, numbers, selects, sensors, switches and text fields. Node-RED flows can be enabled or disabled from the Home Assistant interface. A Home Assistant action sends a message to a Node-RED flow that has been exposed to Home Assistant. Webhooks can be created and managed in Home Assistant and handled in Node-RED, and device triggers and actions can be used in Node-RED automations. It works locally and is added in the Home Assistant interface, after which further configuration happens inside Node-RED.
