About
IPP Print is a custom integration that sends PDF, JPEG and PNG files to a network printer over IPP from Home Assistant. It talks to the printer locally, either an IPP network printer or a CUPS queue, and Home Assistant can discover the printer on the network and offer to add it. The integration adds sensors, including a current job sensor, and a binary sensor for the printer connection. A bundled dashboard card, attached as a feature to a tile card, lets a file be chosen with options such as two-sided printing, copies, paper, tray, color and quality. A print file action can also send a file from the Home Assistant host to a printer, limited to permitted folders. Connection settings cover port, path, TLS, certificate checking, credentials and a legacy cipher option for older printers, and recent job outcomes are kept for a few days.

IPP printer
- Hostname or IP
- Port443 for IPPS, 631 for IPP, 80 for plain HTTP.
- IPP pathUsually /ipp/print. CUPS queues use /printers/QUEUE.
- Use TLSOn for IPPS/HTTPS printers, off for plain IPP.
- UserSent as the IPP requesting-user-name. anonymous works for most printers.
- PasswordOnly if the printer requires HTTP basic auth.
- Verify TLS certificateLeave off for self-signed certificates (most consumer printers).
- Allow legacy cipher suitesEnable if the log shows SSLV3_ALERT_HANDSHAKE_FAILURE (some HP LaserJets only offer non-PFS ciphers).
Discovered IPP printer
- Allow legacy cipher suitesFor older devices that fail the secure connection check, including some HP LaserJets. Enables older cipher suites for this device; TLS stays enabled. Leave off unless needed.

Actions
- Print fileSend a file on the Home Assistant host to a printer. Target the printer's job sensor (or device); optional when only one printer is configured. The path must be under www/, a media directory, or allowlist_external_dirs.Fields: Path, Document format, Job name, Copies, Sides, Paper, Tray, Color, Quality, Orientation
Troubleshooting
- DiagnosticsDownloads a diagnostics file to attach to a bug report.
