About
GL.iNet Router is a Marketplace integration that connects GL.iNet routers on V4 firmware to Home Assistant. It talks to the router locally and is set up in the UI, and Home Assistant can also discover the router on the network. It adds binary sensors, buttons, selects, sensors, switches, update entities and device presence tracking. Readings cover CPU temperature, load, memory, flash, uptime, connected clients, traffic totals and cellular signal, while switches control Tailscale, WG Server, OpenVPN Server, ZeroTier, AdGuard Home and parental control. Actions send, fetch and delete SMS through the modem, manage repeater WiFi connections and saved networks, and send custom JSON-RPC or ubus requests to the router. Options include away delay, update interval, feature groups, WAN status monitoring and whitelist or blacklist handling for unknown devices.

Setting it up
Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services.
Connect
- Router AddressType the router hostname, URL, or IP address.
- Admin PasswordEnter the admin password configured on your GL.iNet router.
- Verify SSL CertificateValidate the router's TLS certificate. Enable this only if your router uses a valid certificate.
- Away DelayNumber of seconds before a disconnected client is treated as away.
- Update IntervalNumber of seconds between polling the router for updates.
- Enabled featuresChoose the integration feature groups to set up. Disabled feature groups will not create their related entities or services.
- Monitored WAN status sensorsChoose the interface and IP version checks to monitor. Known router interface IDs are shown with friendly names, such as Ethernet 1 and Repeater. GL.iNet reports 0 as up and 1 as down.
- Discover unknown devicesAutomatically track and create entities for every device connected to the router, including those not yet integrated into Home Assistant.
- Auto-cleanup unknown devicesSet this to 0 to disable automatic cleanup. Any other number is treated as minutes; unknown discovered devices are removed after that period if they remain offline or disconnected.
- Unknown Devices Filter ModeSelect whether the list of unknown devices behaves as a whitelist or blacklist. (Blank defaults to Blacklist which won't block anything)
- Select Unknown DevicesSelect from currently discovered unknown devices to whitelist or blacklist.
- Unknown Devices Manual MAC Address List (One per line)Manually enter MAC addresses (one per line) of unknown devices to whitelist or blacklist.
- Faster updates (parallel fetching)Fetch data from all features at the same time to speed up each refresh. Off (default) is gentler on small routers.
