About

Cudy Router is an integration that connects Home Assistant to Cudy routers with a LuCI-based web interface. It polls the router locally and turns its status pages into sensors for modem, WAN, LAN, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi, SMS and traffic, depending on model and firmware. It also adds a reboot button, a LED switch, selects for writable router settings, and actions for sending SMS, sending AT commands, restarting the 5G connection and switching the 5G band. Mesh nodes appear as separate devices, and connected clients can be added automatically or picked from a list, with optional device trackers. Routers with SMS support also get a sidebar panel for reading and composing messages, which can be hidden in the options. Setup is done in the UI with the router address, username and password.

  • Automatically add connected devicesCreate client devices and live client entities for every currently connected device. Disabled by default for new integrations. Turn this on to automatically create client devices and live per-client entities, or leave it off to only create them for devices listed below.
  • Automatically add device trackers for connected devicesCreate device_tracker entities for every currently connected device with a MAC address. Disabled by default. Turn this on if you want presence-style trackers in addition to the live client entities.
  • Show Cudy SMS in sidebarShow the Cudy SMS panel link in the Home Assistant sidebar. Disable this to keep the SMS page available only by direct URL.
  • Update intervalHow often to poll the router for updates (in seconds)
  • Manually add connected devicesSelect connected clients from a list when automatic connected-device discovery is turned off. Selected manual devices stay in Home Assistant when offline and become unavailable until the client reconnects. Legacy text-based values are still honored until you save this picker.
  • Tracked devicesSelect specific connected clients that should always keep a device_tracker entity. When automatic connected-device discovery is off, this picker shows the manual connected devices selected on the previous step, or all live connected clients when no manual connected devices are selected. Selected trackers stay available across reloads and show away/not_home when the client is offline.

From the README

cudy_router is a community-built Home Assistant integration for Cudy routers that expose a LuCI-based web interface.

It connects directly to the router over your local network, reads the same status and configuration pages you see in the browser, and turns them into Home Assistant entities, devices, and services.

  • Local polling integration with Home Assistant config flow and options flow.
  • Router-wide sensors for modem/cellular, WAN, LAN, DHCP, VPN, load balancing, Wi-Fi, SMS, traffic, and system status, including CPU/RAM usage when the router reports it.
  • Writable router settings exposed as Home Assistant switch and select entities when the router supports them.
  • WISP uplink scan and connect on supported models: a WISP scan button, a WISP network picker, a write-only WISP password field, and a WISP connect button.
  • Reboot buttons and services for SMS, AT commands, 5G connection restart, and band switching.
  • Mesh node support with separate Home Assistant devices, per-node LED control, and per-node reboot.
  • Connected client devices, per-client controls, and optional device_tracker entities.
  • Automatic config entry migration from older versions.
