SAJ H2 Charge Card

About

SAJ H2 Modbus is a local integration that reads data from SAJ H2 inverters over Modbus TCP. It adds sensors, numbers, switches and text entities, covering power, energy, temperature and battery values from the inverter's registers. The polling interval can be changed at any time, and a faster loop for key energy sensors runs every 10 seconds. An Ultra Fast mode publishes one-second values over MQTT, but it turns off the 10 second loop and leaves PV1 and PV2 power unpolled. Write entities allow passive battery charge and discharge at a set power level, an export limit, and switching between Self-Consumption and Time-of-Use modes. Setup runs in the UI by entering the inverter's IP address, port, sensor prefix and polling interval.

Setting it up

Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services.

Define your SAJ Inverter modbus-connection

  • The ip-address of your SAJ Inverter modbus device
  • The prefix to be used for your SAJ Inverter sensors
  • The TCP port on which to connect to the SAJ Inverter
  • The polling frequency of the modbus registers in seconds

After setup

  • Realtime sensors (10s polling)Polls the key energy sensors every 10 seconds and updates the Home Assistant entities. Switched off automatically while Ultra Fast is active.
  • MQTT topic prefix (e.g. saj/h2)
  • Publish all sensors on main interval
  • Ultra Fast (1s over MQTT)The 1-second resolution is published over MQTT only. While this is active the 10s loop is switched off, so Home Assistant entities fall back to the main scan interval and PV1/PV2 power is not polled at all.
  • Use Home Assistant MQTT (ignores host/port settings)

From the README

Integration for reading data from SAJ Inverters through Modbus TCP.

It should work for Ampere Solar Inverter (EKD-Solar) too. They use SAJ HS2 Inverter.

  • Installation through Config Flow UI
  • Over 390 registers (power, energy, temperature sensors, battery...)
  • Configurable polling interval - changeable at any time, with real-time sensors adjustable at 10-second intervals or even 1-second intervals (via MQTT)
  • Smart Modbus connection management - especially for AIO3
  • New Feature: Configure Charging Time and Power, ability to switch the working mode between Self-Consumption / Time-of-Use Mode (to charge the battery with grid power)
