About

MIDAS (California Energy Prices) is an integration that reads electricity prices from California's MIDAS energy price API. It adds sensors for the current energy price along with the current tariff name, start and end. Matching sensors cover prices and tariff details 15 minutes ahead and 1 hour ahead, which suits automations that react before prices rise. Prices are looked up by one or more Rate Identification Numbers, which come from the QR code on an electric bill, and a device is created for each one. The entities can also be used to set prices in the Energy dashboard. It relies on the vendor's cloud service and is set up in the UI.
