About

Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) is an integration that connects Home Assistant to electric vehicle chargers supporting OCPP. It supports OCPP versions 1.6j, 2.0.1 and 2.1, with 2.1 marked as experimental. Home Assistant acts as the central system, and the charger connects to it locally over a websocket, with options for host, port, a secure connection and the OCPP version to negotiate. It adds buttons, numbers, sensors and switches for each charger. Charger settings include a maximum charging current, sampling intervals, selection of measurands such as current, energy, power and frequency, and Home Assistant notifications. Smart charging behavior can be adjusted, including forcing the feature profile and sending limits as a schedule or default profile. Setup is done in the UI.

OCPP Central System Configuration

  • Central system host address
  • Central system port number
  • Secure connection
  • Path to SSL certificate or (None)
  • Path to SSL key or (None)
  • Central system identity
  • OCPP versionAuto negotiates with the charger using the integration's default order (OCPP 1.6 first). Choose a specific version to restrict negotiation to it, so a charger that advertises several versions is held to the one you pick.
  • Websocket close timeout (seconds)
  • Websocket successive times to try connection before closing
  • Websocket ping interval (seconds)
