About

EnergyScore is a custom integration that scores how well energy use matches changing electricity prices. It adds three sensors: the EnergyScore itself, the current day cost, and potential savings. The score runs from 0% when all energy is used in the most expensive hour to 100% when it is all used in the cheapest hour, over a rolling period of 24 hours by default. Potential savings compares the actual cost of the day with the cost if all energy had been used in the cheapest hour. Setup in the UI asks for a price entity, an energy entity and a sensor name, and options allow an hourly energy threshold and a different rolling period. Several instances can run side by side, for example for total usage or EV charging, and two sensors carry a quality attribute showing how complete the data is. It runs locally and does not optimize energy use.

From the README

An EnergyScore integration provides three sensors; EnergyScore, Cost and Potential Savings.

EnergyScore is a metric that scores how well you are utilizing changing energy prices throughout the last 24 hours. The EnergyScore will be 0% if you use all of your energy in the most expensive hour, 100% in the cheapest hour, but most likely somewhere in between depending on how well you are able to match your energy use with cheap prices. This integration will not try to optimize your energy use, but is complementary to those like PowerSaver or PriceAnalyzer.
