About

OIDC Provider turns a Home Assistant instance into an OpenID Connect server for external applications. External apps such as Claude Connectors can sign in against existing Home Assistant users, including accounts that use TOTP two-factor login. It sits on top of the built-in authentication, so it creates no new accounts and adds no extra login methods. The server offers a discovery endpoint, the authorization code flow with refresh tokens, and JWT access tokens signed with RSA. Clients are registered, updated, listed and revoked through Home Assistant actions, and the client secret is shown once in the logs. It runs locally without external dependencies and is added through the Devices & Services page, though external services need the instance reachable over HTTPS.
