About
OpenEI Utility Rates is an integration that connects Home Assistant to OpenEI.org for utility rate data. It adds sensors and binary sensors to Home Assistant and relies on the vendor's cloud service. Setup is done in the UI in three steps: an API key with an optional search radius and location, then the utility company, then the rate plan. For tiered rate plans, an energy sensor can be chosen, and a plan can also be entered manually from the OpenEI website. It is installed through the Marketplace, or through HACS on version 2026.10 and older.
