About

SunSpec is a Home Assistant integration that reads SunSpec Modbus devices such as solar inverters and energy meters. It connects locally over Modbus TCP, using a hostname or IP address, a port and a unit ID, and serial connections are only planned. The integration discovers what data the device offers and creates sensors from it. By default only the most common sensors are created, and an optional setting for which models to read gives control over what data is used. A sensor name prefix and a scan interval in seconds can also be set, and the sensors work with the energy dashboard. Setup is done in the UI.

From the README

This custom component for home assistant will let you monitor any SunSpec Modbus compliant device, most commonly a solar inverter or energy meter. A list of compliant devices and manufacturers can be found on the sunspec website.

It will auto discover and create sensors depending on the available data of the device. By default only the most common sensors are created, there is an optional configuration that lets you control exactly what data to use.
