About
Frank Quarter Prices provides Frank Energie's dynamic electricity prices in 15-minute steps for Home Assistant. It reads prices from the vendor's cloud API and provides the full quarter-hour price series for today and, once published, tomorrow. Sensors cover the current purchase price, the current feed-in price, and the cheapest and most expensive price windows of each day. Binary sensors show whether the present time falls inside the longest cheap or expensive zone, and the margins for those zones can be adjusted. Optional settings find the cheapest or most expensive contiguous period of a chosen length, and the feed-in price can be adjusted and set to include VAT. Full price series are exposed as sensor attributes for dashboards, automations, home batteries or an energy management system, and setup is done in the UI with a country choice.

After setup
- Feed-in adjustmentThe amount in EUR/kWh added to the verified current market price to calculate the estimated feed-in price. Use a positive value for an additional compensation, a negative value for a deduction, or zero to use the market price unchanged. Contract conditions may differ.
- Apply 21% VAT to feed-in priceEnable this when the feed-in compensation should be calculated including 21% VAT. VAT is applied to the market price plus the configured feed-in adjustment. Leave this disabled when your compensation is calculated excluding VAT. Verify this against your own Frank Energie contract or statement.
- Cheap price-zone marginThe percentage of the day's total price range, measured upward from the cheapest quarter, that is still considered cheap. The longest contiguous run of quarters within that limit forms the cheap price zone. Default 15%, maximum 49%.
- Expensive price-zone marginThe percentage of the day's total price range, measured downward from the most expensive quarter, that is still considered expensive. The longest contiguous run of quarters within that limit forms the expensive price zone. Default 15%, maximum 49%.
- Enable optimal cheap periodFinds the cheapest contiguous period of exactly the duration set below, for today and for tomorrow. Completely separate from the cheap price zone: only the actual prices and the chosen duration are used, never the zone margin. While this option has never been switched on, the matching entities are not created at all. Switch it off again later and entities created earlier remain as unavailable, so entity IDs and customizations are preserved.
- Optimal cheap period durationThe exact length of the cheapest period, in minutes. From 15 to 720 minutes in steps of 15. Only applies while the optimal cheap period above is enabled. The period is always exactly this long and contiguous; if the duration does not fit the day's blocks (90 minutes on an hourly-price day, for instance) the result stays unavailable rather than splitting a price block.
- Enable optimal expensive periodFinds the most expensive contiguous period of exactly the duration set below, for today and for tomorrow. Useful for avoiding consumption or for planning export. Completely separate from the expensive price zone: only the actual prices and the chosen duration are used, never the zone margin. While this option has never been switched on, the matching entities are not created at all. Switch it off again later and entities created earlier remain as unavailable, so entity IDs and customizations are preserved.
- Optimal expensive period durationThe exact length of the most expensive period, in minutes. From 15 to 720 minutes in steps of 15. Only applies while the optimal expensive period above is enabled.

From the README
