About

Pi-hole V6 Integration connects Home Assistant to a Pi-hole system that uses the version 6 API, working locally. It restores support that the native integration lost after the Pi-hole API changed in 2025. It adds sensors for filtering statistics such as blocked ads, DNS queries, cached and forwarded queries, and clients, plus a status binary sensor. Buttons run maintenance tasks like running gravity, restarting the FTL service, flushing DNS logs and the network table, and refreshing data, while actions disable Pi-hole for a set time or enable it again. Update entities report core, Docker, FTL and web interface versions. Optional network device tracking creates presence entities, with an address filter that can work as an allow list or an exclude list, and refresh intervals for live and statistical data can be adjusted. It is added as a custom repository in the Marketplace and set up in the UI.

Live refresh frequency (seconds)How often the entities that reflect the current state of your Pi-hole are refreshed: service and blocking status, switches, and the live indicators. Lowering it makes the dashboard more reactive, at the cost of more requests to your Pi-hole. Defaults to 120 seconds.
Statistics refresh frequency (seconds)How often the cumulative counters and the periodic checks are refreshed. Their values keep moving but are only meaningful as a trend, so a longer interval reduces the number of rows written to the recorder database without losing any data. Must be greater than or equal to the live refresh frequency. Defaults to 300 seconds.
Enable network device trackingDisabled by default. When enabled, retrieves the list of network devices from Pi-hole to create device_tracker entities.
Use address list as a whitelistWhen enabled, only the listed addresses are tracked. When disabled, the listed addresses are excluded and all others are tracked.
Filtered addressesOne MAC address (or Pi-hole pseudo-MAC, e.g. IP-192.168.1.10) or IP address per line, or separated by commas. IP addresses match a device's current IP and may stop matching if it changes. Leave empty to disable filtering.
