About
Namecheap DynamicDNS is a built-in integration that updates a Namecheap domain record with the current public address of the Home Assistant host. It talks to the vendor's cloud service, so it needs internet access to work. Setup happens in the user interface, where the domain, the host name and the dynamic DNS password for that domain are entered. The host field takes a subdomain such as home for home.example.com, or an at sign to update the root domain. Connection settings can be changed later without removing the integration.
