About
Homebox is an app that runs a household inventory system inside Home Assistant. It records what is owned, where it is kept, what it cost and what it is worth now, and locations can nest inside each other. Items can carry a photo, receipt, manual, serial number, warranty date, labels and custom fields, and all of it is searchable. Maintenance logs can be kept against an item, and sheets of QR code labels can be printed for boxes. Items can be added one at a time, imported from a CSV file, or created by scanning a barcode. It opens as its own page in the Home Assistant sidebar, needs Home Assistant OS, and runs on aarch64 and amd64.

From the docs
Homebox is an inventory system for the things in your house. It keeps a record of what you own, where you put it, what it cost and what it is worth now, and it is built for a household rather than for a warehouse.
Items live in locations, locations nest inside each other, and anything can be labelled. A thing gets a photo, the receipt, the manual, the serial number, a warranty date and whatever custom fields you want on it. From there it is searchable, which is the whole point: the answer to "which box in the loft has the camping stove in it" is a search away rather than an afternoon.

Configuration
- Log levelControls the level of log output by the app and can be changed to be more or less verbose, which might be useful when you are dealing with an unknown issue. Each level automatically includes the messages of a more severe level.
- Base URLThe address this app is reached at, for example https://homebox.example.com. Used for the links in the mail Homebox sends. Leave it empty when you only use this app from your own network.
- Allow registrationLet anybody who can reach this app create an account. You need this on to make the first account; turn it off afterwards and invite the rest of the household from inside Homebox.
- Automatic asset IDsGive every new item the next number in sequence, which is what you write on the printed labels. Turn it off if you keep your own numbering.
- Maximum upload sizeThe largest single file that can be attached to an item, in megabytes. Photos straight off a phone are regularly larger than the default of 10.
- SMTP hostThe mail server used to send password resets and invitations. Leave it empty to switch email off entirely.
- SMTP portThe port of the mail server, usually 587.
- SMTP sender addressThe address the mail from this app is sent from.
- SMTP usernameThe username for the mail server, usually the same as the sender address.
- SMTP passwordThe password that goes with the SMTP username.
- SSLEnables/Disables encrypted SSL (HTTPS) for direct access to the app. This setting has no effect on the Ingress service.
- Certificate fileThe certificate file to use for SSL. The file must be stored in the /ssl/ directory.
- Private key fileThe private key file to use for SSL. The file must be stored in the /ssl/ directory.
