About
HiFiBerry is a local integration that controls HiFiBerry OS players from Home Assistant as a media player. It reads playback state, source, title, artist, album and volume by polling, and offers play, pause and stop actions. Available controls depend on the active player, so next and previous appear only when that player reports support for them. Players such as Spotify Connect, AirPlay, MPD, Bluetooth and LMS are covered as reported by HiFiBerry OS. Album artwork is fetched through a separate cover-art lookup, with common AirPlay metadata suffixes cleaned first. Home Assistant can discover the device on the network, and setup in the UI asks for host and port.
