About

MG SAIC is a Home Assistant integration that connects MG vehicles through the SAIC iSmart cloud service. It adds platforms for sensors, binary sensors, climate, locks, switches, numbers, selects, buttons, times and events, plus actions for locking and unlocking, starting and stopping AC, charging and battery heating, front defrost, sunroof, heated seats, tailgate and alarm. Charging actions cover a target state of charge, a charging current limit and a scheduled charging window. Setup runs in the UI with an email or phone login and a region choice, including a custom endpoint for markets not built in, then a vehicle is picked and its optional capabilities are marked. Options allow adjusting several update intervals, and several vehicles can be added from one or more accounts. Using the same account as the MG mobile app shuts that app down, so a secondary iSmart account is recommended.

PasswordEnter the exact password you use in the iSmart app. Avoid trailing spaces when pasting. Very long passwords generated by a password manager can fail here even though the app accepts them, because SAIC's servers shorten them when they are set — if login fails with a long password, set a shorter one (around 16 characters or fewer) in the app and use that.
