About

HERU is an integration for monitoring and controlling an Östberg HERU energy recovery unit. It talks to the unit locally through its onboard modbus interface, using a host name or IP address and a port number. It adds binary sensors, buttons, climate, fans, numbers, sensors and switches to Home Assistant. An optional fan control setting, chosen when the entry is created, adds two fan entities for the supply and exhaust fans. Setting a fan speed changes the unit's standard speed even when it runs in another mode such as boost or away. The unit needs firmware 1.09i or newer, with modbus and network enabled in its service menu, and setup is done in the UI.

From the README

Control and monitor your Östberg HERU energy recovery unit from Home Assistant through the onboard modbus interface.

Note: The integration requires HERU firmware version 1.09i or newer. Version 1.09i introduced one decimal to temperature sensors, and therefore needs to be scaled. The integration has been verified with HERU firmware version 1.14.
