About
PID Controller is a Home Assistant integration that adds a PID sensor to reach and hold a target value. It reads a feedback sensor, such as a room temperature sensor, and calculates the output needed to reach the set point or keep it with small oscillations. The sensor is configured in configuration.yaml and runs locally. Settings include the target value, minimum and maximum output, precision, rounding type, sample time, and an option to invert the output. The proportional, integral and derivative values are set by the user, and a windup limit caps the integral part. Most values can be given as numbers or templates, so they can follow other entities such as input numbers.
