About
TCL TV Remote is a custom integration for controlling TCL Smart TVs that do not run Android. It adds two services to Home Assistant: one that sends a key command, as if a button on the remote were pressed, and one that changes the input source. The source service works by first opening the TV input screen and then sending key presses to move to the chosen input, since the current input is not known and there is no dedicated input button. The author tested it on an S69 series TV and mentions reports of it working on other brands, mainly Thomson. Setup is done in the UI, and the integration is installed through the Marketplace.
