About

F1 Sensor is a custom integration that brings Formula 1 race weekend data into Home Assistant. It provides information about the next race and the full season calendar, along with live data such as race flags and Race Control messages. Other entities cover driver and constructor standings, results, weather, track status, safety car and on-track incident states, plus a favorite driver selection. Live Delay can match updates to a TV or stream, and Replay Mode lets a completed session be replayed with a replay player, which needs a paid F1TV subscription. Device triggers cover events such as the session going live, safety car deployed, and track status changes, so automations can react to them. It includes dashboard cards, needs the vendor's cloud, and is set up in the UI.

  • Replay dump pathAbsolute path to a recorded SignalR dump file. Only required in Development mode.
  • Enable live F1 API (Race Control/Track/Session)Connects to Formula 1 Live Timing via SignalR to receive live updates. If disabled, these live sensors are not created.
  • Install bundled dashboard cardsRegisters the bundled F1 Sensor cards in Home Assistant. Disable this if you only use entities and automations. Existing F1 dashboard cards will stop working after you reload the browser.
  • First day of race weekChoose whether Race week starts on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.
  • Manual backup: F1TV authorization valueManual backup if Token Helper pairing does not work. Paste the full Bearer token from the F1TV Token Helper only as an advanced fallback. Leave blank to use public live timing without Replay Mode or archive media.
  • Clear F1TV authorization value
  • Recommended: Connect F1TV access with Token HelperRecommended path. Connect your Formula 1 account for Replay Mode and archive data. A free account is sufficient for replay; additional live data depends on account permissions and session availability. Public live timing continues without it.
  • Install legacy dashboard cardsAlso register the deprecated F1 cards. New installations leave this off; existing installations keep their previous cards. Requires dashboard card installation. Reload the browser after changing this option. Disabling it stops existing legacy cards from working unless you migrate them to the F1 Sensor card. If several F1 Sensor installations exist, legacy cards stay available while any enabled installation requests them.
