About

Extended OpenAI Conversation is a conversation agent that uses OpenAI to control Home Assistant devices. It builds on the OpenAI Conversation integration and uses function calling to call Home Assistant services on exposed entities. It can also create automations, retrieve the state history of entities, and get data from external REST endpoints or scraped web pages. Functions are defined as a spec paired with a function, and the options include a cap on function calls per conversation and passing the active user's name to OpenAI. A custom base URL allows OpenAI compatible servers such as Azure OpenAI or LocalAI, and the integration needs the vendor's cloud and is set up in the UI.
