About

Alexa Media Player controls Amazon Alexa devices from Home Assistant through the unofficial Alexa API. Echo devices appear as media players with play, pause, stop, track skipping and volume, and the current song title, artist, album and cover image are shown. It also adds sensors such as temperature, air quality, humidity, next alarm, next reminder and next timer, plus switches for do not disturb, repeat and shuffle. Other platforms include alarms, lights, notifiers and selects, and actions cover Amazon Kids mode, restoring the previous volume, fetching history records and rediscovering the Alexa network. It needs Amazon's cloud, is set up in the UI with Amazon account sign-in and region, and has options for polling interval, device filters and one-time password or authenticator key. Because it mimics the Alexa app, Amazon may cut off access at any time.
