About

Fitness Machine Service connects Bluetooth fitness equipment that follows the FTMS standard to Home Assistant. It supports treadmills, cross trainers, rowers and indoor bikes, and works locally. Home Assistant spots compatible machines on the network and offers to add them. Setup is done in the UI, where the machine's type and set of sensors can be detected automatically or chosen manually, and the training data set can be changed later in the options. It adds sensors for training data such as cadence, heart rate, distance and energy, plus number controls for speed, inclination, resistance and power. Buttons for start or resume, stop, pause and reset are included, along with a switch for the connection. The author notes that some functions may not work on equipment that deviates from the standard.
