About

Luxtronik is an integration that monitors and controls heat pumps with a Luxtronik controller over the local network. It works without internet access and is added through the UI, where the host, port, timeout and data package length can be set; Home Assistant can also find the heat pump on the network. It adds sensors, binary sensors, numbers, selects, switches, text fields, dates, a firmware update, a water heater and heating and cooling climate entities. Timer schedules for hot water, heating, ventilation and the circulation pump can be edited, along with away mode dates and hot water blocking times. Options allow an indoor temperature sensor for the heating thermostat and an external power sensor for the COP calculations. It builds on the Bouni integration, adds predefined entities and a full UI setup, and can run alongside it.

Setting it up

Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services.

Luxtronik Heatpump Setup

  • HostHostname or IP address
  • Network PortNormally 8889 or 8888
  • Network socket timeout (Sec.)If the network or the heatpump is slow, you can fine-tune the timeout.
  • Max data package lengthIf the network or the heatpump is slow, you can fine-tune the data package length.

After setup

  • Sensor ID for the indoor temperatureA thermostat for heating control is created in Home Assistant. The actual temperature for this is set by a Home Assistant sensor. If Luxtronik is connected to a hardware room thermostat, then this field should be left empty.
  • Sensor ID for the current power consumptionIf the heat pump's built-in current power consumption reading is inaccurate, an external Home Assistant power sensor (e.g. a smart plug) can be used instead for the Heating/DHW COP calculations. This does not change what the Current power consumption sensor itself displays. Leave empty to use the heat pump's built-in reading.
  • Update intervalHow often to poll the heat pump for new data.
  • Set the room target in Home Assistant (RBE)The Heating thermostat's target becomes a room temperature. Home Assistant adjusts the heating curve correction (Temperature +/-) so the heat pump behaves as if the RBE dial were set to that target. The target can be at most 5 K divided by the room temperature impact factor away from the RBE dial. The RBE's own setback schedule is overridden. The heat pump regulates on the RBE's own room reading: an indoor temperature sensor selected above is only displayed on the card and is not used for this.

From the README

This is a Home Assistant integration for Luxtronik heat pumps.

It is based on Bouni/luxtronik which provides the groundwork for this integration. This integration extends the Bouni integration with with predefined entities and a full UI setup. Bouni en BenPru can run side by side.
