About

WireGuard is a Home Assistant app that runs a WireGuard VPN server on the Home Assistant host. Phones, laptops and other devices act as peers and connect to Home Assistant through the tunnel. The app generates client configurations and QR codes for each peer defined in its settings, so a device can be added by scanning a code. It works only as a server, and Home Assistant cannot join an existing WireGuard network as a client. Setup needs the external host name or address that clients use to connect, and a router port forward for the tunnel. It requires Home Assistant OS, runs on aarch64 and amd64, has no sidebar page, and asks for privileged capabilities and Supervisor API access.
