About

VLC is a Home Assistant app that turns the device it runs on into a media player using VLC. It adds VLC playback to Home Assistant through the VLC media player via Telnet integration, which is expected to be discovered automatically when the app is installed. If discovery does not happen, removing stale integration entries and reinstalling the app triggers it again. The app has its own page in the sidebar that opens inside Home Assistant. It requires Home Assistant OS, runs on aarch64 and amd64 systems, and needs no special permissions.
