About

Tor is a Home Assistant app that gives remote access to an instance as an Onion site through Tor's Hidden Service feature. Because access goes through Tor, no firewall ports need to be opened and no HTTPS certificate has to be set up. The app can also open a SOCKS proxy and an HTTP proxy, so other applications on the network can reach the Tor network through the Home Assistant host. A stealth option hides traffic to and from the instance even from other nodes on the Tor network. The log level can be changed, and it also affects the log output of the Tor program. It requires Home Assistant OS and runs on aarch64 and amd64.

From the docs

This Tor app allows you to access your Home Assistant instance as an Onion site, through Tor's Hidden Service feature. With this feature enabled, you do not need to open your firewall ports or set up HTTPS to enable secure remote access.

The app also offers the possibility to open a SOCKS proxy into the Tor network. Allowing you to access Tor from any of your (SOCKS supporting) applications through your Home Assistant installation.
