About
Postgres 17 is a Home Assistant app that runs a PostgreSQL 17 database server with VectorChord support. It gives other apps and external clients a database to store and retrieve data, reachable on port 5432 by default. That port is exposed to the local network, and it can be removed so the database is reachable only from other apps through an internal host name. The configuration file sits in a shared volume by default, and its location can be changed to keep it private to this app. It also accepts custom scripts and extra environment variables, and it includes notes for migrating data from the Postgres 15 app. It requires Home Assistant OS, runs on aarch64 and amd64, and is set up with a database password in its options.

From the README
I maintain this and other Home Assistant add-ons in my free time: keeping up with upstream changes, HA changes, and testing on real hardware takes a lot of time (and some money). I use around 5-10 of my >110 addons so regularly I install test machines (and purchase some test services such as vpn) that I don't use myself to troubleshoot and improve the addons
If this add-on saves you time or makes your setup easier, I would be very grateful for your support!
