About

motionEye is an app that runs CCTV and NVR camera software inside Home Assistant. It bundles the motionEye web frontend together with the motion camera software, so cameras, including IP cameras, can be added to a Home Assistant setup. The interface opens as its own page in the sidebar. Recording can be continuous, motion-triggered or timelapse with retention settings, and motion detection can send email notifications and follow a schedule. Recordings can be uploaded to Google Drive and Dropbox, and configurable action buttons run shell commands for a chosen camera. Options cover log verbosity, HTTPS for the web interface and an optional motion webcontrol endpoint that has no authentication or SSL. It requires Home Assistant OS, uses the host network and asks for extra system rights.
