About

Dnsmasq is a Home Assistant app that runs a simple DNS server. It forwards requests it cannot answer locally to upstream DNS servers, which default to Google's public servers and can be changed. Individual domains can be sent to a different upstream server, and local static answers can override external domains to give split DNS. It can also serve service records, alias records, text records and reverse-mapping records. Further options turn on logging of all DNS requests and set the cache size, where 0 disables caching. It needs Home Assistant OS, supports aarch64 and amd64, requires no special permissions and has no sidebar page.
