About

Flights Above is an integration that shows aircraft currently passing over a location chosen in Home Assistant. Each flight appears as a sensor showing the callsign, with departure and arrival airports and a progress line of hours flown, hours remaining and total. A separate sensor reports how many aircraft are inside the chosen radius, and a 30-minute history keeps recent flights visible when the sky is empty. Two route sources are tried in turn, so fewer flights lack a route, and an option can limit the list to flights with a known route. A bundled dashboard card draws each flight as a track from origin to destination, with rough CO2 and people-on-board estimates and an optional radar view. Data comes from free community ADS-B sources with no API key, and setup is done in the UI with location, radius, flight count and update interval.

From the README

A Home Assistant custom integration (HACS-ready) that shows the aircraft passing over a location you choose. For each flight it gives you the callsign, the departure and arrival airports, and a progress line showing how far along the journey the plane is: hours already flown, hours remaining, and total.

Two route sources are tried in turn, so far fewer flights end up without a route.
