About

Bold Smart Lock connects Bold smart locks and Bold Connect devices to Home Assistant through the vendor's cloud. Each lock gets a lock entity to unlock it, an activity event showing when and how it was activated, and sensors for battery level, battery voltage and signal strength. Unlocking can go through a Bold Connect or directly over Bluetooth when Home Assistant is in range, and a selector lets each lock prefer one method with the other as fallback. Firmware update entities are provided for locks and Bold Connects, and repair notices appear when a lock is out of Bluetooth range or cannot be unlocked from Home Assistant. Locked status is only reported for a Bold Elite or an upgraded Bold Classic, and locks without a Bold Connect report activity only when a phone with the Bold app passes by. Setup happens in the UI with the vendor's sign-in page, and Home Assistant can discover devices on its own.
