About
Dahua is an integration that connects Dahua cameras, doorbells, NVRs and DVRs to Home Assistant over the local network. It also works with some Lorex and Amcrest devices, and it is set up in the UI, where Home Assistant can find devices on the network by itself. It adds binary sensors for motion, tripwire, face detection and doorbell button presses, plus a doorbell event entity and buttons to reboot or open the door. Lights, switches and selects cover the infrared light, illuminator, security light, siren, motion detection, privacy mode and day/night mode. On cameras with plate recognition, the detected plate is a sensor, and a list of authorized plates can be set in the options. Recordings on the device's storage can be browsed in the Media browser, and a recorder's channels can be added as separate cameras.

Setting it up
Install it from the Marketplace and restart Home Assistant, then add it under Settings, Devices and services.
Add Dahua device
- UsernameAn account on the device itself, not a Dahua or Imou cloud login. It is usually admin, in lower case.
- PasswordThe device's own password. If one has never been set, it is the safety code printed on the device's label.
- AddressThe device's IP address or hostname, for example 192.168.1.108.
- PortThe port the device serves its web interface on. Normally 80, or 443 for HTTPS.
- RTSP portThe port the device serves video on. Normally 554.
- Use HTTPSTick this if the device serves HTTPS on the port above. Left unticked, HTTPS is used only when the port is 443.
- ChannelCounted from 0, so a single camera is 0 and a recorder's channel 4 is 3 here. The recorder's other channels can be added on the next screen, where they are listed by the number the recorder shows.
Add other channels
- Or just these
Name this camera
- Device NameUsed for the device and as the prefix for every entity it creates.
- LabelsPut on every device this adds, including each channel of a recorder. Change it later under Configure, where unticking a label removes it again. A label you add to a camera yourself is left alone.
Re-authenticate Dahua device
- Username
- Password
Dahua device connection
- AddressThe device's IP address or hostname, for example 192.168.1.108.
- PortThe port the device serves its web interface on. Normally 80, or 443 for HTTPS.
- RTSP portThe port the device serves video on. Normally 554.
- ChannelCounted from 0, so a single camera is 0 and a recorder's channel 4 is 3 here. The recorder's other channels can be added on the next screen, where they are listed by the number the recorder shows.
- Use HTTPSTick this if the device serves HTTPS on the port above. Left unticked, HTTPS is used only when the port is 443.
After setup
- Auto-detect channel index (disable if HTTP snapshot at channel=0 works but RTSP only streams on channel=1)
- Read configuration over one RPC2 session per device (fewer logins in the device's log; leave off if unsure)
- Poll ordinary motion state when the recorder does not push VideoMotion events (one request per recorder)
- Events to subscribe to
- Seconds between device polls (events are not affected)
- Enable NVR active deterrence controls
- Manually enable Siren entityEnable this if your camera has a working siren, but the integration did not create the Siren entity.
- Manually enable Security Light entityEnable this if your camera has a working security light, but the integration did not create the Security Light entity.
- Don't open the two-way audio channel when streaming (fixes a doorbell stuck in a call, or talkback in the Dahua/Amcrest app; disables talking from Home Assistant)
- Keep H.265 and stop warning that live view may not play (turn off to have the check come back)The check reports that a channel sends H.265 with no audio track, which many browsers will not play. It cannot see your browser. Enable this if live view works for you, and the warning is dismissed for this device.
- Authorized license plates (comma-separated, e.g. ABC1234, XYZ5678)
- Authorized vehicle hold time (seconds to remain ON)
- Area (moves this device to it)
- Labels (applied to every camera on this device)
- Binary sensor enabled
